William Kirk and Harriet Green

William Kirk (1823-1864), an agricultural labourer, and Harriet Green (1825-1897) lived in Mattersey (Nottinghamshire) and had 7 children and at least 54 grandchildren. William and Harriet were my 2 x great grandparents. Harriet remarried twice after WiIliam’s death, ending up in the Rawmarsh area of Rotherham, like three of her children, including my great grandfather.

My 3 great grandparent were William Green and Mary Bell, both from Worksop, Nottinghamshire. They married and had their children in Cuckney (Notts), 7 miles south of Worksop, but later returned to Worksop.
